I perform both surgical and nonsurgical procedures to alleviate foot ailments. I specialize in advanced taping techniques for hammertoes and heel spurs. When it comes to my routine foot care patients, I am very caring and gentile; I also educate them about how to care for their feet using home remedies, over-the-counter treatments, and prescription drugs.
When wide-fitting shoes and taping techniques aren’t sufficient in relieving discomfort from structural deformities (e.g. hammertoes and bunions), surgical correction is required. In contrast to other podiatrists, my unique surgical style is less painful and requires less recovery time. The size and location of a surgical incision directly affect the patient’s pain level after surgery. The incisions I make are small, which minimizes post-operative swelling and the chance of nerve damage. Further, the incision is closed with dissolvable stitches, thus avoiding the pain and discomfort of suture removal.
Most importantly, I strive to provide my patients with effective pain management strategies and post-operative treatment plans that result in alleviated foot ailments!
Sincerely,
Dr. Hilaire
